About the Anchorage Board of Realtors®

People are often confused by the terms "Real Estate Licensee" and "REALTOR®." What is the difference? Is there a difference?

REALTORS ® are not just Real Estate Licensees

There is absolutely a difference! While both REALTORS® and Real Estate Licensees are licensed to work in the state of Alaska, only REALTOR® members belong to the National Association of REALTORS®, and the state and local boards of REALTORS®. As such, we’re sworn to abide by the REALTORS® Code of Ethics, and to conduct business with all honesty, integrity, and decency. We continually strive to improve our industry and ourselves with continuing education, and we always work to protect and maintain property ownership rights, through our continuing legislative efforts.

REALTORS® are concerned about, and get proactively involved with, the real estate industry, education, legislation, and the public interest, with respect to real estate. Not just for now, but next year, and the year after. Is there a difference between a real estate licensee and a REALTOR®? You bet there is.

Is your licensee a REALTOR®?
